Professional Wet Cleaning in Trivandrum

Wet cleaning is not an ordinary wash. It is water cleaning under tight machine control, with biodegradable detergent and precisely limited agitation, and for a good number of garments it produces a better result than solvent.

When water is the better answer

Solvent is excellent at grease and poor at everything water dissolves. Perspiration, most food and drink, and body soils come out far better in water. The problem has always been that water swells fibre and causes shrinkage.

Professional wet cleaning solves that with controlled mechanical action, tightly held temperature and detergent chemistry matched to the fibre. Many garments labelled dry clean only come out cleaner and fresher this way, with no solvent odour at all.

Perspiration and body soil. Water lifts these properly. Solvent largely does not.
Fine cottons and linens. Recover their handle and drape rather than going flat.
Wool and silk. Cleaned safely under controlled agitation where an ordinary wash would felt or shrink them.
Sensitive skin. No residual solvent means nothing left in the fabric against the skin.

How we decide

Fibre, construction, dye stability and the nature of the soil all decide the route. That assessment happens at the counter, on your garment, by someone who has seen the failure modes. Where a piece is marked dry clean only and we believe wet cleaning is the better process, we say so and ask you first.

Questions we are asked

Is wet cleaning the same as a normal machine wash?

No. It uses purpose built machines with computer controlled agitation, temperature and moisture, plus detergents formulated for the specific fibre. A domestic machine has none of that control, which is why the same garment shrinks at home and does not here.

Can wet cleaning be used on garments labelled dry clean only?

Frequently, yes, and often with a better result. We assess each piece individually and we ask you before departing from the care label.

Will my clothes shrink or fade?

Controlled process exists precisely to prevent that. Dye stability is checked on anything we are unsure of before the full garment goes in.

What is best suited to wet cleaning?

Everyday formal wear, fine cottons and linens, woollens with body soil rather than grease, kidswear, gym and sportswear, and household linen. Also anyone who dislikes the smell solvent can leave behind.

How long does it take?

Standard turnaround is 24 to 48 hours, with same day service available in selected areas.
